COME SING AND TOUR WITH ME IN MARCH 2027!

MARCH 8-18, 2027

Northern Light: Earth, Prayer, and Transcendence

In this sweeping program for choir and string orchestra, three contemporary voices trace a profound arc from the physical world to the spiritual, from grounded existence to luminous transcendence.

The journey begins with The Colour of Earth, a work rooted in the textures and rhythms of the natural world. Its vivid, elemental language invites us to listen closely—to the land, to one another, and to the fragile beauty that surrounds us.

From this place of origin, the program turns inward with Dona Nobis Pacem. One of the most compelling musical voices of our time, Vasks offers a deeply human plea for peace—at once intimate and expansive, marked by urgency, stillness, and aching sincerity. Here, the choir and strings become a single instrument of collective longing.

The evenings culminate in The Golden Harp, a large-scale work of radiant imagination and narrative breadth. Drawing on poetic and spiritual imagery, Walker leads performers and listeners alike toward a place of renewal—where music becomes both refuge and revelation.

Together, these works form a unified meditation on creation, conflict, and hope. In a world often defined by noise and division, this program offers something rarer: space to listen, to reflect, and to be transformed.

Join me and members of the Brentwood Community Chorus for an unforgettable 11-day tour of Sweden and the Baltics, with performances in Stockholm, Riga, and Vilnius. This SATB chorus and string orchestra program features works by Nicholas Ryan Kelly, Pēteris Vasks, and Gwyneth Walker.

Scores will be able to be ordered in mid-late 2026.
